That holy grail is the judicious balancing of risk management, efficiency and effectiveness, as the board fulfils its role of advising, supporting and challenging company leadership while that leadership manages the company on a day-to-day basis. Today’s director juggles the imperatives of being efficient, effective and managing risk in a timeframe that is finite.
